Dr. Kent, you’re one of the busiest facial plastic surgeons in the country. What is keeping you so busy? Well, I’ve developed a new facial procedure called the Lifestyle Lift and the response has been tremendous. Why is it called the Lifestyle Lift? We gave it a name to differentiate between all those other procedures out there. I was looking for something different than traditional plastic surgery. Most women cannot afford to take weeks off of work, pay thousands and thousands of dollars and undergo the pain and swelling associated with traditional kinds of procedures. What could somebody expect from the Lifestyle Lift? Results, amazing results. Once the procedure is done we hand them a mirror and the results are incredible! How does it work? The procedure takes approximately one hour. There is a small incision made near the ear and the tissue beneath the skin is lifted. There is very little manipulation of this tissue, so there is very little swelling and bruising. Does it last? Absolutely, what we do is that we put in permanent sutures underneath the skin that hold everything up so that kind of stops the aging process. Really! How do you achieve such results? After your procedure, the post-operative instructions will be reviewed, as above. Most people benefit from taking it easy the rest of the day. Applying ice or cold compresses to the areas that have been operated upon, and keeping your head elevated will help reduce the swelling and bruising. Specific instructions for care will be provided. Medications will be prescribed by your doctor for relief of discomfort and to reduce the risk of infection. The day following your surgery you may shower and wash your hair. You may wear make-up, but must avoid getting it on the incision lines. If you feel up to it, you may return to work. Most patients do experience some swelling and bruising, and prefer to take a few days off from their activities. We ask that you refrain from heavy activities bending, lifting, etc.) until your sutures have been removed. Common sense will dictate when normal activities can resume.
